A U.S. woman has reportedly sued a casino that said a slot machine showing a $43 million (£34 million) jackpot was broken and offered a steak dinner instead.
Katrina Bookman took a selfie showing the machine at Resort World Casino in New York in August, which read, "I print $42.94 million in cash tickets in cash."
But she was escorted out and the next day she was told she could only have $2.25 (£1.76).
Her lawyer, Alan Ripka, says she has the right to receive all the money on display.
The lawsuit filed in the Queens County Supreme Court informed Miss Bukman that the "bell, noise and lighting" of the Sphinx slot machine and the message displayed on the screen had won, court news reported.
The subsequent disappointment left Ms. Bukman feeling uneasy and depressed, the report said.
She reports that she is seeking damages from casinos for failing to maintain slot machines, as well as the two companies that make and operate game consoles.
A spokesperson for Resort World said at the time that the machine had suffered a "clear malfunction."
The New York State Gaming Board said the machine was displaying a disclaimer that "wrong features invalidate all payments and plays."
But Ripka told U.S. media at the time that the casino did not respond to a request for clarification on how the slot machine malfunctioned.
In 2011, the Iowa Supreme Court refused to pay the $42 million salary after an 87-year-old grandmother appeared on the miss kitty slot machine, saying she had received a bonus of that amount.
